The inimitable kollokium Projekt 01’s studded dial returns in an all-new execution, which we dare say is the tamest to date – and intendedly so. Out of science fiction dreamscapes and into the real world, Projekt 01 Variant G brings a new, softer palette in shades of blue that gives the highly graphical and three-dimensional design a new edge. Variant G2 features white hour and minute hands with blue PVD center and blue PVD seconds hand.

FOR CUSTOMERS IN THE U.S.A
Prices do not include any taxes or tariffs. Currently, US tariffs on Swiss imports is 39%, on top of pre-existing import taxes (4% to 6% depend on the State). We are in the midst of creating a solution to lighten the burden of tariffs on our U.S.A customers. This would effectively bring down the total duties and taxes down from the current 44% to approximately 33%, which we would charge you before shipping the watch. At the same time, there is potentially good news as trade talks between the Swiss and U.S. governments are advancing, and we could end up with tariffs of 15% announced in the coming weeks. As such, we have decided not to charge any taxes or duties during checkout. So worst case scenario, you would have to pay an additional CHF 999.99 before delivery, and best case scenario we ship the watch at CHF 2999.99 and you would pay the U.S. import duties and fees upon delivery, which we hope will be closer to 20% of the watch's value. This also means that we will wait until the final batch in the first half of December to fulfill orders of U.S. based customers.

The Dial
Back in blue. Marking two years since its debut, kollokium presents the sixth iteration of Projekt 01 (K,P–n°01), dubbed Variant G. This time, the singular neubrutalst watch takes on grown up hues. But don’t get it twisted: it still has an appetite for drama. One dial with two possible handsets for a combined limited edition of 499 pieces.
Ever since Projekt 01 was introduced, our friends and customers have been clamoring us to do something in blue. And while we’re always open to ideas and suggestions, we’re also quite stubborn. From black with fluorescent accents to a cement-like grey and finally violet, we’d like to think that we’ve been experimental with Projekt 01, as we truly believe the core design can be interpreted in vastly different ways. But we also understand that you don’t have to always be edgy to stand out. And so, Projekt 01 Variant G explores a more restrained play of tones, amplified by contrasts, volumes and textures to honor a color that is as sartorial as it is horological. And like every kollokium to date (though we promise this
won’t always be the case), you can expect a lot of Super-LumiNova.
It seems like it wasn’t that long ago that we launched the Variant E with two different hand sets, but here we are. Once again, the kollokium trio just couldn’t make up their minds as to which hands they felt worked best with Variant G and its contrasts in blue. Would it be the original kollokium configuration with a contrasting seconds hand, in white, with hour and minute hands that blend in with the dial? Or perhaps something more legible, with lume-less hour and minute hands in metallic blue PVD with bright white edges and a more subdued blue seconds hand? Ultimately, we decided to do both and let our customers decide.
The Case
Projekt 01’s case is crafted like literally no other watch out there. Forged from 316L stainless steel, the case is not made using typical milling and machining processes at all, though the process is in fact industrial and rather old-school: die casting steel. Why? Well, because they said it couldn’t (and shouldn’t) be done. And because the desired result was one where the case would boast practically no finishing or embellishment, and instead feature a uniform, industrial heavy duty steel tool-like appearance with a specific texture that can only be produced when injecting molten steel into a cast form. It’s neither matte nor frosted, but somewhere in between. And as rough as it looks, it’s unexpectedly soft to the touch. It’s simply die-cast steel in all its industrial glory; an antithesis to the neatly polished and delicately satin-brushed finishes you’d find in just about every other watch.
The strap also plays a major role in making the Projekt–01 so effortless to wear. Inspired by outdoor gear (and a certain connected watch), it’s been developed by kollokium as the perfect finishing touch. With just the right amount of elasticity to keep it securely on the wrist without getting too tight and the kind of breathability that makes it quick to dry, It’s a utilitarian’s dream. It consists of a single strap with a hook fastening system and stitched loops to easily adjust the size on the go.
kollokium ≠ watchmaker
We’re not pretending to be something we’re not. Kollokium may be a lot of things (at least we like to think so), but a watchmaker isn’t one of them.
For Projekt-01, we’ve chosen to use Swiss movement manufacturer La Joux-Perret’s G101 automatic movement with a power reserve of 68 hours, so you can take it off on Friday and wear it again on Monday (though why anyone would want to remove it at all is beyond us, but hey). Since Kollokium had nothing to do with the movement, it was decided to leave it completely unbranded and unadorned. It’s not like you can see it anyways ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
